This vibrant wall mask depicts Garuda, the mythical eagle like creature revered in Himalayan and Hindu traditions. Hand carved from wood, it shows the bird’s fierce beak, flaring eyes and ornate feathered crown, with bold colours that make a statement on any wall.
Garuda is known as the mount of Vishnu and a protector against snakes and other dangers. In Himalayan folklore his image symbolises strength, speed and the triumph of good over evil. Displaying a Garuda mask is believed to offer protection and inspire courage.
Our masks are carved and painted by hand in Nepal, using sustainably sourced timber and natural dyes. We source them via Fair Trade organisations, ensuring that artisans are paid fairly and that traditional skills are valued. Each piece is unique and may vary slightly in detail.
